School Policies

Statement of Equal Opportunities

The pupils at our school are regarded as individuals who have equal rights of access to all that the school has to offer.  We are committed to the inclusion of children with special needs.

Equality of opportunity is encouraged and no pupil is discriminated against on the basis of gender, race, religion, language or ability.

Where English is a second language, both child and family are supported according to their individual needs.

Statement of Special Educational Needs

Children are given educational plans tailored to their individual needs. At the same time, these children are encouraged to take an active part in school life.

Statement of Inclusion

At Coteswood House School we aim to provide inclusive education. We would like our provision to be open and accessible to all children. We are aiming to remove barriers to enable participation for all children.

We treat all children with respect and we ensure equality of opportunity. Staff have positive attitudes and we are continually assessing and reassessing the way education is delivered, so that all children receive maximum benefit from the provision we offer, whatever their ability or disability.

Statement of Exclusion

The school reserves the right to suspend or exclude a child should the need arise. Full reference would, in this case have been made to the discipline and complaints procedure.
